Person browsing a cookbook on a checkered table with cake, teapot, and candle. Text reads "cozy winter day." Warm, inviting atmosphere.

Winter has a way of slowing everything down—and indeed, that is exactly what we need. But with the days mostly grey, my energy and motivation have been running rather low, Yet, on the day I filmed my latest video, the sun made a rare appearance, casting light over my little world. A reminder that even in the darkest moments, warmth and brightness can still find their way to us.

A cosy winter day to keep your hands busy and your mind distracted

In my latest video, I spent time cooking—a hearty homemade curry for comfort— and baking a soft, fragrant orange cake for a touch of sweetness. Keeping my hands busy, whether by cooking, baking, crafting or building has always been a way for me to find peace, especially when my thoughts feel restless.

To be honest, I am not a good cook or baker, but I enjoy decorating, platting and the feeling that something mundane can become a meaningful moment.

RECIPE: If you’d like to try the orange cake, you can find the recipe in this blog post.
Table with a cake topped with powdered sugar and flowers, a tea cup, recipe book, and scrapbook on a checkered cloth. Text: "cozy winter day".

Books & Series featured in this video

Even though I love reading, I haven’t been reading as much as I’d like, but thanks to my Patreon-exclusive reading videos—where I’ve been sharing chapters from Brambly Hedge and The Dictionary of Lost Words—I’ve managed to keep the habit alive, even if just a little.

I'd love to welcome you on Patreon too: join here!

In my most recent video, I featured two books: The Dictionary of Lost Words, a beautifully crafted historical novel that explores the power of language, and Mes Petites Douceurs - Cosy des quatre saisons, (in French) a book filled with seasonal and comforting recipes.

You may also spot the 2025 Year of Growth Book on my desk, a journal I’ve been using to set gentle intentions for the year ahead. Feel free to use the code INDOORAWORLD to get a 10% off.

While scrapbooking, I also rewatched an episode of Anne with an E, one of my all-time favourite series. Everything about it—the characters, the messages, the cinematography, the aesthetics—feels perfect. It’s such a heartfelt adaptation, and I only wish they had given us more than three seasons.

The spring ahead

Even though winter still lingers, my mind is slowly drifting towards spring—new beginnings, fresh air, and more light. I’ve been working on seasonal magazines, and I can’t wait to share them with you soon.

They will be up on my Etsy shop: https://indooraworld.etsy.com

I hope this video brings a little warmth to your day.

Thank you, as always, for being here. 💛
